With the even lighter ExpertBook B9, Asus expands its portfolio of professional notebooks

Asus Launches New ProArt Series Desktop, Laptop, Monitor; Teases ...

Asus has set out to expand its more professional range this 2020. The computer manufacturer is one of the most important brands in the notebook sector and its intention is to offer lighter models, but with maximum performance.

Today they present the ExpertBook B9 laptop, which has been awarded the title of "lightest 14-inch business laptop in the world." The goal is clear, to reduce weight and size as much as possible without cutting hardware quality, and even increasing qualities such as the screen and the capacity of SSDs.

When creating laptops for the business world, Asus tells us that his main goals are to achieve a comfortable design for professionals who are constantly on the move, top-notch performance, and durability and security that is proof of any challenge. The new models in the ExperBook range with all these functionalities are now framed within AsusPro products.

Ergonomic design and 14-inch screen in a 13-chassis

For starters, the ExpertBook B9 has a weight of 870 grams (in the version with the 33Wh battery) and its profile is 14.9 mm. Maintains the 145-degree tilted design when deployed, thanks to the Ergolift hinge, to make keyboard use more comfortable anywhere. Another aspect of the design that stands out with the naked eye is the magnification of the screen, a 14-inch panel that occupies 94% of the front.

The 14-inch screen is an anti-glare panel that has a FullHD resolution (1920x1080 pixels) and 300 nits of brightness. Meanwhile, on the sides, we find several connectors for all occasions: two Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports, USB 3.1 Gen.2 port and a 3.5 mm audio output.

To facilitate its use when working, Asus has included the TouchPad that becomes NumberPad, allowing you to make twice as much use of that space on your computer. It is the first professional Asus model to include the Asus NumberPad 2.0. Not the only detail, the laptop includes four microphones with far-field support and noise cancellation, as well as infrared cameras and the front light bar that is activated when interacting with assistants Microsoft Cortana and Amazon Alexa.

Up to 4TB of internal storage

In the hardware section, the performance is borne by the 10th generation Core i7 processors and two 2TB M.2 SSDs each, which is another novelty of this addition to the Asus catalogue. It has up to 16 GB of LPDDR3 memory, WiFi 6 (802.11 axes) and the aforementioned NumberPad that we already saw in VivoBook laptops.

The autonomy can last up to 24 hours with the 66Wh version or you can choose the 33 WH version, which is lighter. Both use fast charge technology to achieve a 60% charge in just 39 minutes.

As for security and durability, Asus has integrated a TPM 2.0 chip for greater protection of personal and corporate data that can be stored on the device. Also for security, it offers a sliding tab to cover the webcam with infrared when not in use.

Also, this model has passed several resistance tests with which it achieved the MIL-STD 810G military standard: resistance to dust, 95% humidity and up to three minutes of margin against liquid drops. Asus puts on sale the new ExpertBook B9 from today starting at the price of 1,799 euros.
