Google Files Improves PDF and Video File Management

Quick Tips to Successfully Utilise Google Drive - iDashboard Blog

One of Google's lesser-known and most useful apps is Files. This application, which is a fairly conventional file manager, has been updated lately with quite important news, such as the inclusion of a secure folder to protect our documents.

Now the app is updated not with one, but with two new features that will delight both those who use it to manage work files and those who use it for leisure.

Google Files Already Opens PDFs
This file and document manager has improved being able to open PDF files without relying on external applications.

However, as in most apps, you can only view it and expand the content, nothing to edit it at the moment.

Changing the speed of videos
The other enhancement is related to media playback. This application was able to open video files since its launch but now you can control the playback speed of them.

To do this we have to open the video in question, click on the icon in the upper left corner, the three dots, and select Playback Speed.

We can make it go faster, multiplying by two the speed, or slower, by dividing it by the same number. They are not the only options and we will be able to make increments of 0.1 units in each direction.

Version 1.0.33 includes these improvements and is already in the Google Play Store, from where you can download it for free regardless of the Android mobile you have. However, you may have to wait a few days before the options appear as there are users who are not shown at the moment.
