The problem is, the app Google Assistant uses to play music may not be the one you want to use. Luckily, you have the possibility to configure at all times which music application you want to be the one used by default from the assistant on your Android phone.

Change the default music app in Google Assistant
When you ask Google Assistant to play music, the wizard will open an app that is set by default. But that app may not be the one you want to use, especially if you have a premium account in apps like Spotify, you want that to be the one that's going to open by default. The good part is that we can customize this and choose the application that will be used by default when asking you to play music. To do this simply follow these steps:
- Open Google Assistant on your phone.
- Swipe to open it in full screen.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Go to the Assistant or Services section (in some cases you will be in services).
- Go to Music.
- Choose which app you want to use.

Having an app selected, the next time you ask the attendee to play music, you will do so using this app on your Android phone. So you won't have to ask him every time you want to play the music that uses that particular app. Whenever you want you can change this and if you want to use a different app on one occasion, you only have to say the name of that app when you run the command.
