Huawei doesn't give up: its first android-free smartphone will arrive in 2021

Huawei Ready to Give Up on Android for Its Own Mobile Operating System

Since The Donald Trump administration decreased Huawei's inclusion in the so-called Entity List, the difficulties the company has faced have been enormous, from problems with processor providers to the inability to use Google's services and applications.

This has caused rumors that the company was going to stop making smartphones have even been triggered.

It seems that this will not be the case, at least in the short term, as one of its managers, the CEO of Huawei's consumer division, Richard Yu, has said.

First mobile with Harmony OS for 2021
In a recent interview, the executive has stated that they continue to work with their own operating system, Harmony OS, from which we know that the second version is falling.

This software is intended to be used on many different devices, but that also includes mobile phones.

Huawei Mate 40 won't be the first phone with an under-display selfie camera

Rumors of mobile with this system are not new and as far as 2019 it was said that the Huawei P40 could arrive with it instead of Android. It wasn't like that. Now, this information makes us think that it will be in 2021 when we see a mobile from a large company that does not use Android or iOS.

However, given the speed at which things are currently changing, we can't give anything for sure as we could see Huawei again having permission to work with Android or quite the opposite, as it chooses to exit the consumer market outside China.

Harmony OS 2.0 will be announced shortly
Huawei will hold a developer event on September 10, where it is expected that, among other things, the second version of its own operating system will be announced.

In the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) the company will try to position its system as an alternative to Android, and although we know that the idea is to make the app compatible, it seems difficult that they achieve, at least in the short term, massive support from the developers.
