Spotify could add karaoke mode and other new features for free users

Spotify is working on new features so you can enjoy your favorite songs and have a good time with your friends.

Karaoke and group sessions are some of the features that would be planned in the future. And as a bonus, a version of the premium features could be extended to free users.

As Jane Manchun Wong mentions on her Twitter account, Spotify seems to be taking advantage of one of its latest features to enable a karaoke mode. Let's remember that synchronized lyrics were recently added to Spotify, allowing users to follow songs without resorting to third-party apps.

And based on jane's shared captures, options are added to adjust the volume of voices on the track. This gives a little more gameplay to improvise a karaoke session with our favorite songs. And it seems that this is not the only feature that the Spotify team is working on.

If you take a look at this tweet you will see that Spotify is also preparing a new option to create group sessions. Let's remember that Spotify launched a feature in July to create sessions with our friends through a code system and that it allows each participant to control the playback of the songs.

The new dynamic is different, as the idea is that users who share the same WiFi network can connect is an audio device. And on the other hand, there is an option dedicated to free users that takes one of the premium features: listen to music in offline mode.

As you can see in this screenshot, free users will be able to have up to 30 minutes a day to listen offline. It seems like little time to enjoy our playlists, but it can be useful on more than one occasion.
