Instagram redesigns its interface in Spain to prioritize its store and Reels

Instagram is one of the most popular apps among teens, in Spain and most countries. Rivals like Tik Tok have managed to deal with it, but for the moment not to displace it.

The company, now part of Mark Zuckerberg's empire, has never had any particular problem changing parts of its interface to highlight the elements that best suited it. And that's just what they've done again.

Priority to Reels and store

In any application, we can see which zones are most important to developers because of the relevance they give it in the main menu.

In the latest Instagram update, we've seen no less than two new tabs appear in the main menu, which is at the bottom of the home screen.

There we see how next to the profile icon, timeline and Explore, we have two new ones: one for Reels and one for the store.

This demonstrates the importance of both sections to the company. The first is relevant because it is the direct response to Tik Tok, and Instagram wants to give you more visibility to prevent user leakage. The second is a great way to monetize the product without putting in any more ads yet (and that few there isn't).

This new way of organizing the sections was in testing but now it arrives in Spain massively. However, server updates may take place in waves, so it may take a few hours or a few days to get it in our account.
