Self-destructing messages arrive on WhatsApp: this is how they are activated

This week it was announced that messages that are destroyed alone came to WhatsApp, although they had not yet been officially announced by the app. That moment has already come: the messages that self-destruct are already official in the most popular messaging application in Spain. A function that will have great importance in the application.

This feature is launched with the name Temporary Messages and will allow messages from a Chat on WhatsApp to be deleted after seven days automatically. You're just going to have to turn this option on in a specific chat, so they're automatically deleted.

That's what Temporary Messages are like on WhatsApp

Instead of having to delete messages from a specific chat in the app manually, this temporary messages feature will allow messages sent in any conversation to disappear after 7 days. According to WhatsApp, this measure helps conversations feel more private as well as lighter because deleting those messages takes up less space, an option that arrives days after the new store manager.

This is a feature that will be used in any chat you have in the app. In individual conversations, either person will be able to activate it without any problem. For group conversations, only administrators will be able to activate these Temporary Messages. To enable this option, you need to follow these steps:

  • Open WhatsApp on your phone.
  • Enter the chat in question.
  • Tap the other person's name.
  • Go to Temporary Messages.
  • Enable this option.

This new feature will allow you to have more private conversations when all the messages you have sent after 7 days are deleted. The new Temporary Messages start their deployment now, but it will be throughout November when all users of the application will be able to enjoy them. If you enter, they may no longer work out for you, but these weeks will be official for all users on Android and iOS.
