To add a camera to your apple watch

If you're using Apple's watch, but miss the built-in camera, check out this invention.

It's an Apple Watch strap equipped with front and rear cameras, the Wristcam, with an 8-megapixel camera that can record 1080p videos and take pictures in 4K resolution and a 2-megapixel selfie camera.

The strap can be useful to replace the mobile camera when we have it inside the backpack and need to capture something immediately, but we can also use it as a walkie-talkie video with live streaming in real-time.

How the Wristcam works

The Wristcam displays images on the watch screen but has a separate battery that guarantees a day of battery life. To take photos or videos you only have to press a button on the same strap, and it will synchronize the data with the iPhone automatically. When you take a photo or video, an LED will light up to let you know it's working.

Its storage capacity is 8 GB, and it syncs with the watch using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and iPhone via Bluetooth 4.2, 5.0 and Wi-Fi. It can take up to 20 seconds to share a photo directly from Watch via Bluetooth, but they indicate that it will sync directly with a connected iPhone.

As far as its weight is concerned, it is half that of the watch, 23 grams, and they have several colours.

The product was born in a crowdfunding campaign, and they are now focused on delivering the units to the customers who supported it at the time (sold 10,000 units). The Wristcam now accepts direct bookings from customers on its website for $299, although they will only ship as of March 2021.
