Download trends reach the Google Play Store

Google knows that one of the basic pillars of Android worldwide is its app store. Well, it is true that while in Spain and other Western markets it is almost obligatory, in China the reality is another.

However, that doesn't take away from the platform's cornerstone being that but that they ask Huawei.

Thus, the platform engineers work on improving the usability of this application, this time using trends.

Showing app download variations

Some users have started to see how new icons are appearing in-app listings that show whether a particular program is in a higher or lower position than before.

This way we can see with the naked eye if an application is in a Top 10 because it has just entered or if it is withdrawn.

The problem is that we don't know the frequency of updating these lists, whether they are done daily, weekly, or on an unscheduled basis so we can't measure the merits of an app to spend more or less time on those listings.

We'll have to wait a while to see if there's any information to help us complete the new data that the Google Play Store lists throw at us.
