Samsung Galaxy Pro and Pro 360: Samsung return to professional laptops coming through the big door

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book 360 that aim to meet business needs with versatile equipment powered by 11th generation Intel processors.

Five years after Samsung's exit from the laptop market, at least in Europe, it returns to charging with a complete line of corporate laptops.

Versatility, mobility, and efficiency are the hallmarks of the Galaxy Book Pro series just introduced by the South Korean firm and demonstrates this with an extremely slim design and a 2-in-1 convertible version that allows you to work directly on the screen.

In addition to its features and design, the Galaxy Book Pro and Book Pro 360 show great portability with models walking over the weight limit.

What most catches the eye of this new laptop saga is its extremely thin profile. The brand itself has come to mention that they are as thin as a smartphone.

We are talking about laptops moving in the range of 11.2 mm and 11.7 mm with weights between 880 and 1,150 grams. An all-out to ultralight laptops like LG Gram.

Both Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Pro 360 will be available with 13.3-inch and 15-inch, 6-inch AMOLED displays with Full HD resolutions, and we find some differences in the list of features present in both sizes.

In the case of Galaxy Pros, there are more coincidences than the differences, in the clear part, of size. For example, both models mount Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors accompanied by 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB of RAM, as well as up to 1 TB of NMVe SSD storage.

However, only the 15.6-inch model will offer options to mount a dedicated GPU that will be Nvidia's MX450, while all other versions will use Intel's Iris Xe.

Connectivity is covered with USB Type-C connectors with Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 support, and microSD card slot, as well as support for 6e WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1 connections. However, only the 13.3-inch model will have optional mobile LTE support.

We also found some differences in battery capacity limited in part by its size, being 63 Wh in the 13.3-inch model, while in the 15.6-inch it reaches 68 Wh. However, both will use a 65W USB C fast charger.

Samsung has made a real deployment of models in this new foray into laptops and has been concerned about leaving no gaps. 2-in-1 convertible laptops are one of your strongest bets by integrating a 360-degree hinge that allows them to be used as a conventional laptop or as a touch tablet.

The most compact version will arrive with dimensions of 30.2 x 20.2 x 1.15 cm and 1.04 Kg in weight, while the 15.6-inch version grows to 35.4 x 22.7 x 1.19 cm and 1.39 kg in weight.

The screens chosen by Samsung for its 2-in-1 convertibles are Super AMOLED with Full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels) supported by a Dolby Atmos sound tuned by AKG.

Inside we find the new Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 11th generation processors, supported by an Integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU for i5 and i7 models, while models with the Core i3 will arrive with Intel UHD Graphics.

As with Galaxy Book Pro, the 2-in-1 convertible version will come with small performance differences between the two available 13.3- and 15.6-inch sizes.

For example, because the 13.3-inch model is more suitable for portability, it offers optional support for connectivity to 5G networks and allows connection to 6e WiFi networks, while the 15.6-inch model cannot connect to 5G networks.

We also found differences in the amount of RAM available, which is 13.3-inch models are limited to 8 GB and 16 GB, while on 15.6-inch models they scale up to 32 GB of RAM. The same goes for battery capacity, which the more compact model mounts a 63 Wh battery, while in the larger one it is 68 Wh.

Otherwise, both sizes share USB Type-C connectivity with Thunderbolt 4support, headphone jack, and microSD card reader, plus Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. To improve the interaction with the screen this model integrates an S-Pen.
