Virgin Galactic unveiled its latest spacecraft, the VSS imagine

VSS Imagine is the new vehicle of the SpaceShip III space company Virgin Galactic, designed for space tourism.

It has changed something the design its compared to the previous models, in fact, this one is extremely bright, has a surface designed to reflect sky and earth, which can give a surprising effect as it comes up to the almost 100 km that it has planned.

In addition to providing thermal protection, this dynamic material is naturally attractive to the human eye, reflecting our inherent human fascination with space and the transformative experience of spaceflight.

The goal remains to offer "affordable space tourism," with about 400 flights per year so customers can rub through space just as the company's VSS Unity spacecraft did in 2019, which reached an altitude of 89.9 km.

This new generation is designed to allow more flights to be launched a year, but it is not the last one we will see this decade, as Virgin Galactic has commented that they continue to work to improve designs and reduce the prices of the trip to space.

VSS Imagine will begin ground testing, with gliding flights planned for this summer from Spaceport America in New Mexico. The first flight will take place in May of this year, 2021.
