Bayonetta 3 is "progressing well" even though it wasn't featured at E3 2021 according to Nintendo

While it's been a while since we heard some major updates on Bayonetta 3, Nintendo has confirmed that the game is "progressing well" despite its absence at E3 2021.

Speaking to GameSpot, Nintendo's Nate Bihldorff and Bill Trinen confirmed that the game is still on its way and Trinen stated that the game is "progressing well".https://latam.ign.com/Bayonetta-3/44874/video/embed

"We like to show things when we're ready to show them. And we certainly like to show things when the developers are ready to show them," Trinen added. "We didn't have it here at E3, but stay tuned."

Bayonetta 3, exclusive to Nintendo Switch, was announced at The Game Awards 2017, but the game has remained virtually silent ever since. Earlier this year, game director Hideki Kamiya said "it's safe to expect" news about the game in 2021.

As Kotaku reported, Kamiya took to Twitter to share his frustration with those on the internet who questioned whether development had stopped or whether the game had been delayed due to lack of updates.

"I understand why people say, 'Hurry up and post information or 'Show us something,' but...," Kamiya wrote on Twitter. " Reckless comments like 'Has development stopped?' Or 'I guess it's overdue,' etc., they're nothing more than annoying public waste."
