Google meet adds masks and filters to make fun video calls

Google Meet is getting an update on iOS and Android that brings several masks and filters. Yes, the same ones you know from Google Duo.

Several new options also extend to the integration of Google Meet into Gmail. So you'll be able to use the new effects from anywhere you start the video call on your mobile.

Google Meet has many functions that allow us to have work videoconferences without any problem. We can adapt them to different contexts and have the necessary characteristics to carry out a professional video call.

But you may miss Google Duo when you want to create a casual and fun environment to hang out with your friends or family. A problem that already has a solution, since Google is bringing the filters, effects, and masks of Duo to Meet.

New filters, masks, and effects in Google Meet

Google Meet now offers you an assortment of filters and masks to choose from, which you will find within the "Effects" section. For example, you will have up to 7 different styles that combine filters and more than 20 masks to add effects or colors to your face, put on the mask of a little animal, or become an astronaut.

So you will have many options to combine and share with your friends in video calls to steal a few smiles or have a fun time. And of course, you will still have the function that allows you to blur the background when you are on a video call, or change the background for one of the images provided by the application.

So if Google Meet is your favorite video calling app, you won't have to turn to Duo for more fun meetings anymore. An update that you will find both in the mobile apps of Google Meet and its section in Gmail. If you don't see these new options, be sure to update the app or watch on Google Play if the update is still pending.
