‎Oppo Watch 2: the connected watch is officialized and could support Wear OS 3‎

‎In China, Oppo presented its new connected watch available in two formats. The Oppo Watch 2 is powered by a Snapdragon Wear 4100 and could land in Europe with Wear OS 3.‎

‎Available for a few months in France, the‎‎ Oppo Watch‎‎ has found its replacement in China. As expected, Oppo has lifted the veil on its new connected watch called Oppo Watch 2. Little surprise therefore for a watch that takes up ‎‎the main lines of the Watch,‎‎including a design largely inspired by Apple's toxicants. The rectangular screen is still present and the brand continues to offer two formats, with models 42 mm (Bluetooth/eSIM) and 46 mm (eSIM).‎

‎If the appearance of the watch does not change, the ‎‎site 9to5Google‎‎ notes that both versions are now equipped with a curved AMOLED screen and clocked at 60 Hz. It offers a density of 326 pixels per inch, with a size of 1.75 inches (372×430 pixels) for the 42 mm model and 1.91 inches (402×430 pixels) for the 46 mm version. The main novelty is inside with the integration of a Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip and an Apollo 4s coprocessor. An important change for this watch is that arrives in China under ColorOS and without access to the Play Store.‎

‎A European launch with Wear OS 3?‎

‎The Chinese brand has not yet confirmed its launch in Europe, but we can hope that the Oppo Watch 2 walks in the steps of its predecessor. As for the Watch, Oppo could continue the Wear OS adventure by offering its watch under Wear OS 3. Google recently mentioned ‎‎the new version of its operating system‎‎ and seems to reserve it for watches equipped with the Snapdragon Wear 4100 SoC. Along with the TicWatch E3 and Pro 3, the Oppo Watch 2 is one of the only watches that can claim the ‎‎unified platform‎‎ of Samsung and Google.‎

‎For the rest, oppo's watch is rather complete and offers various features dedicated to sport and health such as continuous frequency monitoring and SpO2 measurement, in addition to sleep and stress monitoring. Oppo ensures that Watch 2 is capable of offering up to 4 days of autonomy on a single charge and up to 16 days in power saving mode. Book charging from the Chinese manufacturer is also present.‎

‎Officialized in China, the Oppo Watch is priced at 1,299 yuan (about €170) for the entry-level Bluetooth model (42 mm) and 1,499 yuan (about €195) for the 42 mm eSIM-compatible version. Finally, the 46 mm model is announced at the price of 2,000 yuan or about 260 €.‎
