‎The new academic session in colleges and universities in the country will begin on October 1 and the admission process is to be completed by September 30. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced new guidelines for the same.‎

‎Higher educational institutions and universities have been instructed to start the admission process for the degree course only after the results of CBSE, ICSE, and all state boards are announced.‎

‎All school boards in the country are expected to announce their 12th results by July 31. But the UGC also said the new session will start from October 18 if the eligibility test results are delayed. The commission has clarified that the process of teaching and learning must continue online, offline.‎

‎Full fee payable if admission is canceled‎

‎The commission has also instructed higher education institutions and universities to pay the full fee if students cancel or migrate admissions. The suggestions come in the backdrop of farmers being financially shocked by the Karon. Colleges and universities are also obliged to conduct the final exam by August 31.‎
