Leaked Galaxy Watch photos show Samsung and Google's new smart watch operating system on a real device

We're just over a week away from Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event, but new photos from 91mobiles may have revealed our first in-person look at two things we got to see on the show: the rumored Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and the new smartwatch operating system. from Samsung and Google.

The two 91moblies photos show a black and silver watch with rounded bezels, which match a design seen in leaked versions of Android headlines and detailed GIFs released by well-known leaker Evan Blass in July. Perhaps most significantly, the photos show the new smartwatch operating system (currently called Wear) on real devices for the first time. But unfortunately, there's not much to see, just an initial setup screen and a screen that asks the user to set the time.

Google and Samsung announced that they would essentially merge Wear OS and Tizen into Google I/O in May, promising improvements in battery life, faster app load times, and more. And in May, Samsung gave us an idea of what the new operating system will look like on their devices (and it looks great in what the company showed if you ask me).

While Samsung's taunts for the August 11 unpacking point strongly toward new folding watches, the company has revealed new smartwatches at previous August Unpacking events, so we may be able to see a new smartwatch next week. And based on other recent leaks, Samsung may also announce another smartwatch, the Watch Active 4.
