How much do software developers make?

Recruitment startup Revelo surveyed the most requested programming languages and the highest-paid positions for those thinking of entering the area. In the clipping, professionals who work with the Xcode language are the most desired, receiving about R$ 8,900, or R$ 106,000 per year.

The programming language was developed in the 1980s and gained popularity with NeXT for the NeXTSTEP operating system, from which OS X (for Macs) and iOS (for iPhones) were created. Two other well-paid languages are Delphi, with an average of R$ 8,500 per month, and Scala, with R$ 8,300.

In the last three years, the languages most requested by companies are Javascript, Java, and HTML. Between 2019 and 2021, the search for the JavaScript language more than tripled, becoming one of the most promising in the market. The professional who has this experience can develop web and cloud pages and solutions.




In the registered curricula, among the most common languages dominated by candidates are HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. The survey also shows the variation in remuneration according to seniority areas and levels: the professional who works in the position of developer receives about R$ 7,800 per month, while those who work with business intelligence receive on average R$ 7,400.

In the area of information technology, remuneration is about R$ 7,100. About the time of experience, senior-level professionals over six years receive more than R$ 9,600, while the full, which operate in the area between three and six years, receives R$ 6,800, and junior R$ 4,700.

Revelo's platform has more than 1,500 active companies and about 570,000 applicants. The survey was based on data reported by these professionals and companies in their employee recruitment.
